The following three compound movements have a few things in common with each another. First, they are all full body movements and secondly, they all require triple extension in order to be performed correctly. Compound exercises are ideal for many reasons. Here at Jefit, though, we love them simply because they can pack on muscle since they activate multiple muscle groups at one time. Exercises involving triple extension are those that call on the muscles making up the ankles, knees and hip simultaneously. When you end up combining both compound exercises and triple extension type exercises in a strength program, you can get explosive results!
Here are a few Jefit exercises that combine both of the training components previously mentioned and can be used in your next routine.
Barbell Clean
As the load gets heavier, you’ll see more triple extension, especially in the ankle area compared to this female model.
Hang Snatch Below the Knee
The same comment, found in the first exercise, can be applied here with this compound movement as well.
Power Jerk
Final Thoughts
Here are three good examples of full body compound exercises. Keep in mind with a few of the videos, as the load increases so will triple extension, particularly in the ankle joint.
